Group Lessons to Help You Master Singing
Find Your Groove: Group Singing Classes For Adults at Groove Music School
A message from our Founder / Vocal Instructor, Cheryl Loon:
I’m so excited to be rolling out these group vocal / singing lessons so that many more students out there can benefit from learning how to sing in a setting that’s not as stressful because you’d be with many others who are looking to improve their singing. On the other hand, I know some may find group classes nerve wrecking especially if they are put in a spot to sing in front of everyone. I know, I know! I’ve been there and honestly, I still don’t like being the centre of attention but I’ve learnt to overcome that.
I want to promise you that I have thought long and hard about how I can make the environment comfortable, inclusive, insightful and fun for everyone.
At Groove Music School, our group singing lessons for beginners are different because of the high standards I set for myself and the classes I conduct. We believe in:
- Honest and transparent in my interactions with you. I believe in open communication.
- Maintain a high level of competence and adhere to the highest ethical standards in my practice.
- Treat all students with respect, regardless of their background, abilities, or beliefs.
- Show compassion and empathy for everyone’s experiences and challenges.
- Treat all students with fairness and equality.
- Avoid causing harm to you or others through my actions or inactions.
But most importantly, why this is going to be different is because I have taken a lot of time to work on this curriculum with the aim of overcoming the challenges people encounter in group classes, some of which are:
- Don’t have enough individual 1-1 time or personalisation
- Feeling lost in between lessons and no time for questions
- Can’t keep up with the pace
- Overcoming self-doubt
- Fear of judgement
- Varying skill levels in class
My goal for everyone who comes to this class is to walk home feeling like you have:
- Become a better singer in your own way
- Have acquired the fundamentals of singing
- Gained more confidence in singing
- Learnt to like your voice more than before

Hear From Our Students
"I look forward to weekly vocal lessons at Groove Music School! A big factor in my decision to pursue vocal lessons at Groove was my vocal coach, Cheryl, as I love her voice and ability to demonstrate/explain vocal techniques in ways that work for me.
Cheryl focuses a lot on achieving vocal freedom and singing using mind-body connection, which really resonates with me! Our lessons are also always fun-filled and packed with laughter, on top of covering theories and learning new songs.
Groove Music School offers personalised lesson plans to meet your needs, I’d strongly recommend you to head down for a trial class if you’re looking for a safe, cosy space for vocal lessons!"
